Description
Grossular Garnets come in many interesting colours, and the term is derived from the scientific name for the Gooseberry bush (Ribes Grossularia). I've featured photos of the green Tsavorite variety of Grossular before, but here we have the classic burnt orange coloured variety known as Hessonite from the world famous Jeffrey Mine in Asbestos, Quebec, Canada, as well as a lemoney yellow variety from a relatively new find in Handan Prefecture, Hebei Province, China, and lastly a raspberry pink coloured variety called Rosolite from Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico.
